VC $25K guaranteed last Sunday.....45 players left, 27 get paid. Blinds at 1/2K I have circa $30K in chips - (puts me about 30th in the field...chip leader has 140K or so), 2nd to act at a full table and am dealt TT. I raise to 8K and only button calls. From what I've seen, he almost always limps into pots or calls raises with a very wide range of hands (any PP pair, Ax, any 2 broadway cards). Flop is 677 rainbow.

What do you do here? Was the PF raise and amount correct?

    How big is his tank?

He's got about 18K left after calling the initial raise.

Preflop raise probably only needed to be 6K. 8 is a little excessive considering its nearly 25% of your stack. I think an overbet might be a good play after flop since its unlikely you're behind and he may be the kind of player who will call off all his chips qith a big ace or an underpair. Since you only have a few thousand more than what's in the pot I would just move all in. There's no shame in taking the pot down early and increasing your stack by 30%.

EDIT: Wait he's got 18K? Bet 10K and try to suck him in. He'll either push or fold. If he flat calls he's an idiot.

Thanks Nicky......that's what I did - overbet the pot to put him all in - as it happened, he had pocket sixes for a flopped boat and I was crippled. Just wondering if there was any set of circumstances where I wouldn't lose my stack on that hand.....even with a smaller pf raise I'm probably going to end up committing on that flop.

In any tournament hand if you flop an overpair and someone flops a set its very difficult to get away from, considering you started with 15 bbs and 4 went in preflop you could never get away from this hand. Your opponent made a mistake preflop because he wasnt getting odds to hit his set.
