Wondering how karma fading works.

Am I right in thinking it fades with the more posts done rather the time since it was issued? smile.gif As I seem to have lost 2 points of karma very quickly where as other people still have karma from a long time ago?

Yeah I lost a point, very quickly, but I have been posting more than usual. But then again I'm not sure what difference that should make.

Don't think about the magical Karma Fairy of Boards.ie(tm) kids- or he'll pass over your connection and forget about giving out his wonderful gift smile.gif

Best not to think about such things- not like Karma matters to 99.99% of us...(particularly those who don't get it tongue.gif)

Ha Occy. Still, try to put yourself in our position. Imagine for instance that you periodically lost letters off your username. You wouldn't seem so cool being "Bob the Unlucky Octopu". smile.gif

Ah, but Kix- "Octopu" merely sounds exotic...with each letter that's removed the mathematical exotic factor increases. As for putting myself in the shoes of the average user- why not? Remember, as Castro once said "I used to be one of you, comrades- lend me leadership, and you be the judges at my execution if need be."

Poetic speech for a brusque little prole biggrin.gif

Joking aside though, karma fading, by its nature, seems to reward to wrongdoer and punish the virtuous.

The forgiveness of sins is well intentioned, but the forgetting of good works?

I think definately is down to the amount of the posts rather than the time since karma was issued. I managed to lose 1 karma in the space of about 4 days (without being given negative karma) in which I had alot of postings. Where as someone like Inferno still has his original point of karma which was issued right when karma was new.

Yeah it'd nice to know when it was going to fade.

Sure didn't poor ol' Victor get a real bollocking from me when I lost a karma immediately after him deleting several of my posts. The timing was quite unfortunate in that regard! smile.gif

Personally I think, bad karma should fade, good karma should remain.

Well, positive Karma fading is like "you've done something good, but don't sit on your laurells, keep doing good things!"
