Karma (not slagging it off, honest)

    If I might make so bold as to make two small suggestions wrt Karma operation:

    1) Could an email be sent whether the poster is being warned /or/ praised; or better, a configuration option be added to the control panel to, uh, control this behaviour? I popped on the Karma number next to one of my posts one day last week and found some lovely compliments, but I have no idea when they were added.

    1) Could the thread the user is being warned or praised for be associated with the comment? It's kind of disconcerting to find these wonderful comments and have no idea what some of them were in relation to. I'm still trying to figure out what made Mills laugh so much, and where I posted the eCommerce stuff.

    Thanks to Mills, Verb and of course Bard (twice!) for their comments and karma points anyway, they were a nice surprise. I think I should go back to being a bad boy though... smile.gif

    Good suggestions, and I try whenever possible to include the URL of the post in question except when I give general alround posty goodness praise (rare).

    More mods should because some of the comments without context make no sense.

    Might lend karma a bit more credibility

    If someone is +/-3 it'd be interesting to see if you reckon they deserved it or not, can decide for yourself when you look at the related posts, i.e. u'r being told what to think about someone as it is, that'd at least let u know the basis for it

    Would also make a Mod think more seriously about the karma he's giving, as it is if someone p1sses u off in general u can pick any old post and use that whereas with a url attached it'd be clearer whether there was some bad posts or u'r just clutching at straws

    Still don't like karma though
