The word "kids" in posts is being underlined and turned into a link to americanbaby.com in posts........ e.g snaggle's post here: http://www.boards.ie/bulletin/Forum20/HTML/001960.html

Is this intentional for some reason or what's going on?

Mills, you have a Comet Cursor type virus-thing on your PC which is doing this - it's an ActiveX control that installs on the sly and starts putting in superflous links. Evil little git of a thing... There are a few of them around. You'll need to do a proper cleanout of all your activeX controls to get rid of it...

Also isn't there something called Smarttags in XP or the IE6 beta that does that?

Last I heard, they were going to be pulled, because Beta reviewers gave them such a slating. Perhaps giving the Beta to journalists wasn't such a good idea.

Being slated by testers is Microsofts reasoning. The fact that they're illegal under European law is much more likely to be the reason why they've been pulled smile.gif

I've seen the same kind of thing with Kazaa. It underlines anything to do with music for example.

The single most annoying aspect of the Kaaza add-in is that it hijacks legitimate tags as well as embedding it's own.

Personally I wouldn't want that crap on my machine.

Eep! Lucky for me I'm planning a complete system re-format and new OS in the very near future, that should sort it out smile.gif
