Allow Deletion Of Posts

I can't understand why the feature to delete your own posts has been removed.

If someone wants to get rid of something they said, they can simply edit it.
I just have a disliking for those ugly POST EDITED BY ***** 03/08/01] messages that appears at the end.

If I made a spelling mistake or some other mistake in a post, I would delete it, then correctly repost it.

Any chance that Boards.ie can allow their users the option to delete their own posts ?

This was turned off because it allowed people to delete entire threads. If you made a post, left it for a day and had some people reply to it, you could go and delete it, as well as everyone else's replies.

Hobbes Points out a noticable and for some reason unexploited Bug(if u can call it that)
but perhaps its a bug to boards.ie as then u could have treads that r pointless....

as for Deletion... I SAY NONE...
No one except Mods and Admins should be aloud delete posts and editing shouldn't be aloud either.... Instead Auto Spell-check should be used when u hit Submit.... Just an idea

Why shouldnt editing be allowed? Its very handy, whether its a spelling mistake, you forgot something so you wanted to add it in, or you thought of a better way of putting a line so you decided to change it, etc.
