We're looking for a reputable, affordable and well-placed hostel/hotel in London.

    Anybody with any recommendations?

Can you give us some idea of where you want to stay, what price range you're looking at etc?

London's a big place, with a lot of accomodation..so narrowing it down a bit might help ;)

    - Anywhere with access to tube or bus really.

    - Price? Under £40 per person per night sharing really.

Tried out somewhere like Travelodge (www.travelodge.co.uk)? Quite a few dotted around London and rooms can be quite reasonable (plus en suite). Most rooms have normal bed, plus sofabed - so easy to fit more than one in. Depending on when you're going you can get the rooms from anything from £26 stg up to £50/60 - which isn't bad on a sharing basis. Some of the ones closer to the centre of London maybe dearer.

I stayed in this one (https://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hotel/hotel.php?hotel_id=48) - a bit outside the centre, but a couple of minutes away from the Piccadilly line tube by bus, plus buses to Hammersmith and Sheperd's Bush from outside the door and a nightbus from central London if you decide to go out. Some of the other ones a little outside the centre will be a bit cheaper too, and most would have reasonable transport nearby.
