Want to take up Field Archery

I am thinking of joining the local field archery club,as they shoot on Sundays and I know my wife will be off work and able to mind our son then :)
I think I'd like to shoot a Korean recurve bow Quicks Bows
but I'd like some advice on draw weight and arrows etc. before I buy.I'm still trying to contact a club member who could teach me how to use a bow and safety regime etc.
I have owned and used a compound before but I fancy something a bit more natural and the Korean/Mongol style appeals to me,and suits my Tae Kwon Do training.
I'm also a licensed firearm holder and Deer hunter with my Steyr Mannlicher rifle,so I'm used to handling potentially dangerous weapons safely.
Any tips or suggestions gratefully accepted!

Only starting into field archery myself but have been shooting target archery for some time. Check out the following sites, there might be links on them to people who can help you.

What's your local club? I might be able to get in touch with someone for you.

    Deise Archery Club

Any of the lads I knew were members haven't been there in ages, the founders e-mail doesn't work and the link I got from ITFAS doesn't show any signs of working either :)
I may just have to call down to Kevin (the founder) at his place of business, not really appropriate but I'd hope he'd understand. He's an acupuncture practitioner locally and has a very good rep. He may be the best point of contact for me at this point!
    Thanks for the help lads!

I doubt he'd mind. I've shot with a number of the Déise archers in the past; they're a nice bunch. I'd say it's your best bet alright.

I see in the paper that the lads are doing a bit of a demo in Cappoquin this Sunday around 14:30 so I may be able to get up to that.
My little lads first birthday party is the same day though so might be bad form to slip away from an army of screaming children for the chance to shoot "Arrers".
