On the post reply screen if I include a space after my name in the 'Your UserName' field, I can't post. So 'Evil Phil' can post but 'Evil Phil ' can't.

A different problem, but also with whitespace is that you can't put a 'space' or 'tab' at the start of a line to indent things or create 'tables'. Any chance of a hack for that?

What do you need the space for anyway?

Refer to the first post by Hannah at "Heriditory genetic disorders" and click on edit - you will see the information is tabulated in the edit window, but not the view window.

That's what I was thinking. Although trimming whitespace isn't exactly rocket science, so I guess it could be "fixed" quite easily.

Victor has a point though, hitting "Reply and Quote" on posts that already have quoted text screw up the new message considerably.

Why use Reply and Quote in that case? Surely reply is better in this situation...

Maybe, but this was deleting some of the quote and adding 'completely' new stuf .... eek.gif

Also, editing a post with quoted code corrupts the quote.

I did spell my name right. It should trim the white space at the end. hello?

Well, I know it's being picky, but no, you didn't. Your handle is "Evil Phil", not "Evil Phil ". A space is a character, therefore you didn't spell your name right. Stripping whitespace at the end would be a feature. This is not a bug.
