    Any one been there?
    Myself and my SO are thinking of going in December for around 3 weeks.

    Weather seems to be great around then, just after the monsoons too (well one of them).

    Any must see's?
    How did you fly there? Via Dubai?

    Micro, I was in Sri Lanka in '99. I went with my girlfriend at the time. We flew via Dubai from Heathrow with Emirates. Emirates were fantastic.

    We stayed at Bentota beach which is about a 4 hour drive from Colombo. We went to Galle on the South coast which was great but unfortunately this area took a pretty bad hit in the tsunami.

    We did a trip up to Kany for a couple of days which is well worth it. It has things like the temple of the golden tooth. Pinawala elephant orphanage was nice but I can't remember where it is.
