[help] CD,DVD autoload problem in XP

I got rid of two CD drives a few days ago, old 16 speed CD Rom & an 8 speed CD writer, in their place I installed a new Samsung DVD recorder TS-H552U and a MSI 52x/32x/52x CD recorder.
Both are working fine except that they don't auto load when I load a cd or dvd,
I have to go to "my computer" and double click on which ever drive I put the disk in to get either the DVD or CD to play, before this whenever I put a disk in the old drives it was automatically detected it as either music, photos and so on
and a pop up menu listed a choice of programs prompting me to select one, this does not happen now. How do I restore the original settings ?

right click on the drive in explorer and go properties -> autoplay -> restore defaults

Tried that man, no luck,... :( also tried the other options ie: selecting the desired application to open each type of content on the CD or DVD, still no luck. :(

Check see if auto run is enabled. You can do this in the Registry be going to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom, look for the AutoRun key and changing the value to 1 for on, 0 for off.

everything in the registry checked out ok, it's sorted now.
I installed both drives at the same time and on the same IDE cable,
I think this messed up the configs, so I just installed them again one at a time
and things are back to normal,...thanks :D:D
