BF2 niggles... well questions really :)

I've been playing for a week or so now and loving it too; great game etc. but there are some questions I've had which I can't find answers to... so here goes..

1) The DUCK and ROLL Move... How is this achieved? I've seen players who kind of sidestep, roll and come up shooting in a one-on-one firefight, and they always win because it's almost impossible to hit them while they are ducking/rolling etc. What's the secret?

2) Unrecognised Gamemod... When I go searching for ranked servers, I end up on ****ty 'unrecognised gamemod' servers about 50% of the time, but of course I don't find this out until a map is over and the stats go 'bye byes' instead of being counted. How can I filter out or identify these servers before going into them from the in-game browser?

3) Commander screen... I've been squad leader lots of times and I'm happy with that (interface, cmds etc.), but a few games ago I ended up being promoted to commander somehow, and no matter how many times I went to the tactical screen - I couldn't see any commander type interface/commands to issue. Eventually - for the sake of the team - I had to resign because I was pretty ineffective as a commander without the ability to issue orders ... How do I access the commander interface when I am a commander?

Its an animation not actually a move, its what other player sees when you strafe and hit the dirt at the same time.

Use ASE sort by ranked 678 of them out there now mostly full but ASE sorts em out.

Capslock should bring you into the commander screen.

the duck n`roll is just an animation, you don't control it, the enemy see you do it but who would want their whole screen doing a revolution everytime you go prone and strafe?

cool that roll thing was drivin me nuts aswell, i was like how the hell are they doing that.

If you have ever played americas army when you're prone and strafe the whole screen rotates

in the server browser you should see lots of little check-boxes and stuff underneath the list. can't remember the exact phrases but there's one for "same mod" and you can tick "ranked" to only get ranked servers

at the start of a game, on the squads interface (CAPS LOCK) you can apply to be commander. if no one with a higher rank then you applies, then you get to be commander...
if you're commander you have to press caps lock again to bring up the interface. remember the functions will drop off if your artillery/uav is blown up

Just one other note on the commander thingy . while in commander mode , with the map in front of you if you right click anywhere on the map a list of commands come up to allow you to issue orders . You can also click on a squad and right click and issue orders from a drop down menu , or select multiple squads with 'ctrl' ( I think , hmmm it's a while since I played commander ) .
