I have relatives there and was there myself about 3 yrs ago. St. Helier is a bit more developed but it still has a bit of character, and shopping is still tax-free

There's a new airport building, um, the island is still pretty good for outdoorsy stuff: beaches, cycling, walking...can't think what else to say really.

I'd check out www.jersey.com and maybe call the tourist board there if you want more info

my sisters bf lives on the island, we went over there about 6 weeks ago, It seemed more expensive this time. If you want accomadtion in St. Helier I would recomend the Royal Yatch as it is centered to everything, plus it has a lovely Grill, boy do u get big T-Bones. mmmm
I would only spend a few days on the island as there is not much to do over there. unless u just want to relax its prefect.

it is beatuiful and perfect for a romantic weekend. It is not all that cheap apart from booze and some food.

get a hire car and explore the island .. loads of hidden gems, my favourite is the Underground hospital (prison).

For a really quality day and evening ... head out to Rozel Bay, spend the day on the beach and wandering around and a bit of fine dining at the Chateaux La Chere (I am sure that is the incorrect spelling).

Hotels are pricey enough but for a weekend a good B&B is more than enough as there is plenty to do everywhere.

it is a good spot to get in alright as most people over look it as a destination.
