did you do a clean install?
use task manager to end the winamp process if it does it again...

haven't had any issues with it myself

you can just choose not to install the adware :p
i'm not gonna stand in the way of someone buying this fine piece of software though.

might be worth trying a fresh install without the winamp agent - ****ing annoying thing

I've gone off it myself. I'm using Media Monkey.

Its was find a few years ago. These days it lacks extra useful functionality, that other players have.

In my opinion, it's best to stick with some of the older versions of Winamp. They seem to be getting slower and buggier as new versions are released.

Useful site - get old versions of popular programs here!

i use winamp5 for this reason, it's old enough not to have the adware but it's new enough to have the media libary so that i can transfer songs to my brothers ipod quickly
