Basically I'm looking for DVD Authoring software that will allow me to set the video aspect to widescreen, so a widescreen TV will switch to it's 16:9 aspect ratio when I play the DVD though a stand alone DVD player.

Currently I'm using TMPGenc DVD Author 1.6 but there's no option to do this in it. Nero does have this option but its menu creation system is awful.

I only require an authoring program, as I have plenty of program for editing.

Thanks a lot for any help.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure that tmpgenc dvd author auto detects if a clip is 4:3 or 16:9 when you import it...

And anyone who has their TV to "Auto Detect" aspect ratios is indeed a newb.

Thanks decob, I'm not sure I ever actually tried to burn a DVD in TMPEnc DVD Author to see if it worked & switched automatically - I just saw there was no option. I'll give it a go.

Lump - what's wrong with Auto Detect? Most TVs I've come across don't give you a choice anyway, when the SCART socket tells the TV that the DVD content is in 16:9 format it'll switch your TV accordingly.
