I'm not saying anything... :p

The B Coming is a kickass album btw.I Can't Go On This Way is simply unbelievable.

I dont know id probably agree so far this year the Documentary is probably the best, Commons Be is excellent too but there both different types of albums and Documentary does it for me.

Of all time, i dont think 2001 is the best album but its up there imo.

Best album for me so far this year is The Perceptionists - Black Dialogue.
Greenhouse Effect - Columbus or Bust deserves a mention too, some more good Blueprint work.

is it worth getting. i've heard a few tracks that I like but I'd be afraid I'd grow tired of it really quick

2001 was alright. It has some brilliant beats but besides Eminem and Snoop the rappers are weak.Definetly not Dre's best, never mind one of the best of all time.

Be walks all over the Documentary and the Massacre btw.No contest.

Who mentioned the massacre, its probably by far the worse album of the year. The Documentary and Be are very different albums its like comparing chalk and cheese, they are both great but in different ways.

How are they so different? They are both hip hop albums  , right? Be is by far and away the album of the year. Common sh1ts all over Game.
When does Kanye Wests new one drop? Thats gonna take over a album of the year me thinks

Its not due to be released till the end of August afaik, dunno if its gonna light up the Hip-Hop world tho, theres too much hype about it and i dont think it can live up to it, the two songs ive heard off the album have only been alright, i reckon the new J5 album will be a contender for the album of the year title.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭Makaveli

Wow, I'm surprised the number one boards.ie Immortal Technique fanboy doesn't think his new album will be album of the year. ;)
Or has that been pushed back to a later date?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 724 ✭✭✭ubu

I thought that went without saying at this stage ;) latest update is late summer with the tour planned for late summer aswell but that wont happen without the album being released so hopefully it stays on track, this one is supposed to be less political and more upbeat with Rev Vol.3 getting back to the political stuff next year.

been listening to the perceptionists - black dialogue over.. and over.. and over.. and over

    gods, I love this album.

I really don't understand how this kind of music doesn't make it into the charts over here, if people really are into the whole hip hop/rap thing.. and the charts would suggest they're at least trying to be.. you'd think these guys would be selling loads.

really, I'm not sure I'll ever hear a better rap album.. but I've not heard that many :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭Makaveli

There's no marketing/video/air play so it stands little chance of making an impact on charts.
Also, I'd say the majority just buy albums, singles are a waste of money unless you are buying vinyl.

Is there any word of him doing any dates in Europe? (I'd fly to somewhere if I had to)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 724 ✭✭✭ubu

This week i have been mostly listening to Def jux presents Vol. 3 and Common's Be. Both class albums

Slim Thug - Already Platinum. Also been listening to T.I - Urban Legend. On a bit of a dirrty South thing at the moment.
Album of the year so far for me would probably be probably Common - Be, although I think its pushed close by Cassidy - I'm a Hustla, thats a personal preference though. :)

Worst of the year so far would probably be Young Gunz - Brothers From Another. I expected much better. At least with 50 you kind of half expected it to be a bit ****e.
