It's actually €130 and I might get one myself as I got one like it from Lidl and it was OK.

I saw last Thursday in Aldi Castlebar some of the old 250 GB HDD for €89 IIRC.

It's not exactly a giveaway as komplett have a better range for about the same price...and you can get a 200 gig for about 100 euro.

They're IDE, 7200RPM, ATA100, 8MB cache. Not bad at all for €130, not a super bargain but a good price none the less. You could buy a little cheaper in komplett, €126-128, but then you'd have delivery cost and time to add on, not to mention GLS

I'd get one, if I had €130 spare and Aldi were near by.

Anyone that takes a 3.5 IDE drive. Pretty much every PC shop sells them. Just be careful that it supports drives larger than 120GB. Some of them don't.

It failed twice? Whats does that mean. It failed and you got it working, only for it to fail again. Or you've had two drives both of which have failed. What do you mean by failed?

    You had a backup right?

Any idea when they do the external drives? I wouldn't mind one of the external ones, Does the Aldi in Dublin do them at the same time as the rest of them in Ireland?

Bought one in Aldi Parnell St. earlier. Installed and doing it's thing. There's a three year warranty on the box, and it's a western digital as mentioned before.

Do you know if they had many left in Parnell St. ?

No idea. They don't have any out other than the couple in the display cabinet, and I didn't ask.

got my TWO in Belgard road at 7 last night, the €99 is not advertised so well. Seemed to be plenty of them left.

Just picked one up in Belgard before closing time tonight. Apparently the price is going back to the advertised €129 tomorrow (that's if there were any left!)
