Now that they've fûcked-up the once-excellent TVTome, has anyone found a decent alternative site? It doesn't have to have goofs and notes, just decent synopses of episodes and complete listings on a background that doesn't cause eye-haemmorrhaging.

They really ruined it didn't they? It's horrible now, I totally avoid it. Surely they've gotten some really bad feedback. Haven't found any similar site though :(

http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/ is great... sarcastic recaps are the name of the game :)

Very funny alright but they only review selected stuff.

http://www.epguides.com was always superior to tvtome but they only do episode lists now, no synopses. They also have links to some less offensive versions of tv.com pages. Best to use that as a portal for now.

tv.com is awful awful awful. The presentation is piss poor and lots of the vital info that used to be there is now gone. It always pisses me right off when websites like this that are only popular because of user submitted content turn around and go ultra commercial.

How is tv.com ****ed up? Sure the look is different and the filters are a little unwieldy at first but all the exact same info word-for-word is still there as before.

In my opinion, TvToMe.com was a fantastic site due to how simple the layout was and how easy it was to navigate and find what you wanted quickly.

Now TV.com just looks cluttered. And this streaming video / ads all over the place are terrible! And it doesn't seem to like Firefox.. i get little flashes of ads all over the place sometimes when i highlight over menu items.

I used to be a regular visitor at TvToMe.com but due to TV.com, it's outta my favourites list now!

Ye it is quite terrible...even simple things like every episode of every season being listed on one page where it can easily be found. Now you have to go through several steps to find one episode...meh. Thats only one small thing as well.

It hates Opera as well. I hate the way as soon as you click the link to a programme the synopsis of the last episode comes up - very spoilery.
    TWP looks fun, if limited.

@basquille - TvToMe.. I always read it as TV Tome. I thought it was kind of a strange name... :)

I always thought it was "TV to me" but a friend told it was "TV tome" as the defenition of tome is:

"A tome is a variety of large book, often a large volume of a multi-volume scholarly work."

    Guess it dosen't matter now.

Ye its Tome as in a volume of something, like books is the example given...

and ye,I guess it doesnt matter now :(

It doesn't seem to list episode guest stars or the airdate/intended airdate for the episode anymore :(

imdb does that aswell but I quite liked www.allmovie.com (they do TV shows, but mainly only guest stars and airdates and very few synopses or episode lists) but they seem to have messed that up a bit these days too... used to be nice and simple...

I always though the ingenuity of the name was that it could be read both ways - hence the logos/branding of the site never really reflected either TV Tome or TV To Me one way or the other... personally I always regarded it as TV Tome anyway. Irrelevant now though, I can't believe they did this - there are fewer and fewer good media sites for me to pull material on music/tv from now.

Don't be surprised if IMDB disappears within the year :-p.

This came up on digitalspy.co.uk and, to settle it, they provided a link to the original archived site where it is 100% TV Tome URL=http://web.archive.org/web/20001205204500/http://www.tvtome.com/]link[/URL:
    tvtomlog.gif

.. And I prefer the old, uncluttered site too but will still use its new incarnation.

They dont appear to have ****ed up TV Tome untill you try to find out info on something. I dont think the new one has ever not ****ed up in some way for me.

The great thing about the old one, is that you didnt even know it was great untill they ruin it. It was the simpleness and quick navigation that was great. People went there for tons and tons of info and not fancy GUI.
