Canon Pixma IP3000 woes

I am having alot of difficulties with my IP3000 lately.
When I print out some colour sheets it works fine for the first 5-6 sheets.
Then everything goes a bright red colour.
I have tried 3 different brands of ink,,cleaned the heads numerous times and replaced the cartridges with new ones but the problem still remains.
It is driving me insane .
Even with a cyan cartridge in the printer instead of a magenta cartridge the problem persists!!
The printer is only 4 months old.
I am at my wits end and the only resolution I see is me putting my boot thru it.
    Anyone have any ideas ?

I think I'll smash it up tonight as my patience is gone at this stage.

If its less than 12 months old then bring it back to where you bought it.

If its out of warranty, bin it and buy something else. The Epson C86 is pretty nifty ...

I bought it from Pixmania which is located in France.
Could cost a fortune to return it ?
I also have about 50 ink cartridges left for it.

Should be less than 20 euro to send it registered with an post, however according to the Pixmania site, you have to ship it in the original box, otherwise no warranty (not sure if they can legally insist on that though)

Got to be worth trying for 20 euro, a new printer will be 5 or 6 times that at least.

The shipping charges (both ways) to the warranty department are paid by the customer.
It has to be sent to France.
I sent a 3kg box to Germany in January and it cost me €35 by An Post .
This printer is 6.5kg so it will cost a bomb.
I'm gonna have to fix this baby myself.

You could also try Canon in Dublin - this site lists Bryan S Ryan as an authorised Service center. Gotta be worth a phone call anyway.

I rang Bryan S Ryan and they said to send it up so I'll post it off tomorrow.
    Only 10 euro to post.
    Cheers XDA.
