Sharing interests... What have you taken on?

Hey all!
Ever notice,when you start seeing someone,you,for example, start to watch the same tv shows or pick up their habits etc?
It just happens the more time you spend with someone!
Anyway,relationships often require trying to share the other person's interests and I was just wondering what have you done for your partner? How far have you gone? A football match? A dance class? A gimp suit?

Me? I'm learning to play chess!...... Oh what I wouldn't give to spend an evening in the gimp suit instead! :rolleyes:

In seriousness, to answer the original question, i usually do pick up something from any gf i stumble across... For example the last three from furthest back to most recent would be goin to clubs(i do not dance.not for lack of ability, merely lack of interest in aforementioned activity), then there was the discovery of a whole new genre of music i had never listened to but fell in love with, for which i am ever grateful. i also wont mention said genre because there's always some boob who'll just reply to say its sh1te! and with the present gf its comics. Never opened a comic before in my life, not even the beano or stuff like that! but again i've fallen in love with them, marvellous entertainment! and something i never would have considered til i met her!

So all in all a nice constructive thread i think!

i'm gonna have to force some of my hobbies onto my next one
would be sweet to have a gf that's into mixing... i sure as **** wouldn't want to teach anyone how to do it though

Hmm..let's see....From other boyfs I've gotten into The Frames,weed(thank you to that guy!),chicken fried rice,mafia films and certain video games.... That's all I can think of for now....

I introduced all my girlfriends to gaming.

They then later broke up with me and hooked up with people I introduced them to.

I probably shouldn't share my hobbies.

I now know who pretty much all the characters on the West Wing and ER are.

I've started noticing how shows like the West Wing and ER have these really long shots, where the camera follows some characters, then changes direction and follows some more people and usually this would be several different scenes but there hasn't even been one cut. I not only notice it, but I appreciate why it's done and how difficult it is to pull off.

I know that you can tell a film has been well edited if you don't notice the editing. And to admire this I have sat through Erin Brokovitch, twice!

I know what the director of photography does, and what the best boy does, and what the grip does and etc, etc, etc.

I know who edited Lawrence of Arabia.

I know more about film than I would have ever thought it possible to know without having your head morph into some weird James Van Der Beek faximile.

That and I was introduced to class A's.

All in all an interesting combination.

With my boyfriend, it's more me that has got HIM into stuff... Although I have got more into his type of music and we've gone to concerts together. But I've got him into my type of films, a lot of the bands that I like, and I give him books that I really enjoyed. Neither of us have done anything like taking up a class though
