I am fed up of buying Bus Eireann tickets from the net. Bus drivers seem to loath putting in the MAC number.

Some just give up & say get on the bus.

Has anybody else had this experience.

When you buy the ticket - they send you an email with a number or code.

You print it & give it to the driver. He keys it into the ticket machine.

My experience yesterday was that 2 drivers could not generate the ticket. I They then just left me board the bus. Often - I have go to a few bus drivers before I get a printed ticket.

    Are there inspectors on BE?

My brother has been using net tickets for about two months now and the drivers do seem to be getting better. A major problem was that the ticket was Dublin - Drogheda but he actually got on in Santry. Since the ticket machine was set to start at Santry and the MAC was for Busaras, it rejected it. Took a few goes on different buses (none of the staff at Busaras were any help) before they figured that one out.

i used it ages ago from cork to killarney, but the driver just told me to go to the ticket desk in the station to "get a ticket"

whats the point if you have to go to the damn ticket desk anyways

i've gone by car anytime since
