Mini beer kegs

I bought a mini keg of Lowenbrau in Munich airport coming home from there about a month or so ago. It cost me 8 euro for 5 Litres. Anyway, it tasted delicious having had it in the fridge overnight, and then you pour it like a pint. It tasted better than anything I've ever had on draught in Ireland anyway. So crisp and creamy and cold and refreshing. Anyway - the only mini kegs you seem to be able to get here are Stella, which is fine, but here they are 25 EURO!!!! Does anyone know where you can get other brands of mini keg and are they 25 euro everywhere? How the hell can it be 8 euro in an AIRPORT GIFT SHOP in germany (airports usually being notoriously expensive), and 25 euro here???!

8 Euro for 10 pints? Jaysus, that's great.

Yup, those Germans have some seriously cheap beer.

What's even better is that 3 years later, it's still the same price :) I'm off to Munich on a stag at the weekend and I plan on getting a load of them ...

I visit a friend in Munich a couple of times a year and NEVER forget to buy one or two of these kegs. The men in my house love them and at €8 !!
I always bring a small, empty, wheeled suitcase through to the duty free and I can fit 2 kegs in. I just slide it under my seat during the flight and wheel it when I get to the other end. Happy days.
I am tempted to buy one of these : http://www.gizmag.com/go/6574/
They had them in Lidl for about €80, although the beer never lasts long enough in this house to justify spending €80.

I don't know tbh. I drank the whole thing myself :o and every time it would end up half froth so I had to let it settle for a couple of minutes then finish it off. At first I thought it was the way I poured it but I tried numerous different angles and it was the same. With no way to adjust the gas or pressure then there's nothing you can do I reckon.

Germany is the place for good afordable beer. Was in Munich a few years back for the Oktober fest, and also brought beer back.

    You pour like a woman?:D:p

Most likely caused by a bad connection, between the keg and your glass. What were you using to get the beer out of the keg?

The keg in question comes with it's own crappy tap. With a plastic lever to release the beer.

    I pour like a man:p:D
As i poured loads of pints in pubs i should know.
I kept the barrell upright, nozzle out, glass ready, pressed the nozzle button and out comes froth+froth?
    Not a drip of beer.
So i let the keg rest for about 20 mins hoping the gas might work.
    Nope just froth:mad:
I just buy the odd cans now.

    it could be over pressurized

I've never had hassle with the Heinekin kegs, the first pint or two is froth but I think it says that on the keg anyway but once you get rid of that the rest are actually quie nice.

    Why yes, yes I am.
Despite your best efforts you're not much of a pedant if you can't even pick what I'm getting at and your reply to me was littered with grammatical errors.
    Completely off topic anyway.
