Those four you just mentioned are doing pretty good for themselves lately. I just hate the way, music channels in particular, keep re-playing songs over and over, it wrecks the songs.

    Kanye West

Why? Diamonds of Sierra Leone is a great track, it highlights the persecution and suffering of working class people in Africa. How could you hate that idea?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 905 ✭✭✭Ay Cee

I think I seen something at the end urging people to buy "conflict free" diamonds or something?!

Talk about pure ****in' hypocrism! If he's that worried why doesn't he sell his diamonds and send them the money to help them.

Now I like Kanye, would consider myself a fan but that's just acting the bollox.

I've only heard a bit of the song on radio and caught the end of the video so I could be wrong.

it highlights the persecution and suffering of working class people in Africa.
The song wasn't even about conflict diamonds, it was about Rockafella until he decided to re-write it. Listen to it next time, besides the hook it's the usual first person nursery rhymes.
The song isn't Kanye crying out to Angola, the Congo, Liberia, Sierra Lione etc, etc to stop fueling their wars with diamonds mined by slaves worked to death and then sold off to wealthy westerners. It's about Kanye West, and presenting a good public image. Which is fuçking detestable imho.

He's still probably the most creative mainstream MC out there.

really havent heard too much of sa smash, so cant say i hate him

dont really hate anyone, its such a strong emotion!!

Christ, the next poster who says "theres more to rap than MTV" gets a smack in the mouth. Indeed there is, but I have as much respect for some twat who rakes in billions with a sh1t rap tune as I do for some pretentious kunts with their "I only listen to rap artists that have less than 20 Irish fans" agenda. G-Unit hatred on the net has become something that is seen as necessary in order to define your own rap credibility level. Granted, 50 has some bad lyrics, and apparently Banks album was sh1te, but credit where credit is due. Young Buck put out a solid album. Lloyd Banks drops a good freestyle. I havent got the Massacre yet, but GRODT was pretty good. Not spectacular, but good. Like 50 or not In Da Club was possibly the best cut released as a commercially successful single since California Love (bar maybe MOPs Ante Up). Not saying IDC was better than everything between 1996 and 2003, merely that in terms of what found its way onto radio it possibly was......
Theyre not the best in the world, but they sure as hell arent the worst. As said, as they become more successful, G Unit hatred seems to become more fashionable
We all know Makavelis opinion of the g u n i tizzy. No offence intended pal, but centuries ago you did say
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=84533&highlight=cent
"Havent heard the album but In Da Club and Wanksta are pretty good tracks.
The only problem I have with 50 Cent is that he doesnt really open his mouth, it's like he raps through his teeth which kind of grates on my nerves a bit"

Christ, thats a while back. I lost access to an old account due to password problems . So I changed to Tha, its more street wurd :)

Question, who has the worst lyric
50 Cent "I love ya like a fat kid loves cake"
Andre 3000 "I wanna stank you.....stank you very much"

In my opinion Andre 3000 is the biggest twat in music. He is an embarassment to rap. His lyrics are childish. I know someone is going to say "listen to early Outkast" but I honestly cant be arsed spending 20 quid for their first album for fear that he was as bad then as he is now. Speakerbox/Love Below got rave reviews from fans and critics alike, which makes me further wary. I quite liked Outkasts singles when I was 14, then I grew up and realised they (well, Andre anyway) were sh1te.

    So basically, who Im hating

Andre 3000. Untalented, camp embarrasment to rap music
Damon Dash. Always struck me as a twat
P Diddy. Another wanker. Didnt he rcieve $50,000 for running his own charity or something?
She may not technically be in the rap industry, but Russell Simmons wife, whilst a fcukin ride, is a bollix ;)
Any figure in the game who promotes this nonsense about the NYPD hip hop police unit specifically set up to lock up rappers. Newsflash guys- they dont fcuking care about following you around. If a cop pulls you over and finds you are driving under the influence of crack, it wasnt because the rap squad were following your every move and waiting for you to slip up. Its because some cop on patrol saw you drivin like a bollix
Wouldnt say Im hating Kanye West, but College Dropout was largely rubbish. And how many white people from one of Chicagos richest areas could get away with rapping about coke dealing and welfare fraud?
The Neptunes. Not as sh1te as they were a few years back, but nothin great either (Do the Eagle or flap your wings or whatever is one of the worst rap tunes of this century thus far). Apparently Nas has paid them $2 million for one beat. Still wouldnt get my hopes up

That is an old post indeed, and they were/are good tracks. In Da Club got played to death though and I can't stand it now.
50 Cent hasn't changed though it's the same formula applied to most of his songs. I don't like Get Rich Or Die Tryin' at all really and after listening to a few tracks on The Massacre I concluded that he is a joke. He's just so lazy, knowing any crap he puts out will sell he doesn't bother trying. That or he just managed to pull a few good songs out of the bag and really had no talent to begin with.

I don't think people expressing their dislike for G-Unit is jumping on the bandwagon. The Beg for Mercy album is muck, and I've no intention of listening to their solo efforts.

man people dont listen and buy certain artists albums just because "they have 20 irish fans". thats just retarded, i listen to the people i listen to because i generally have more in common with them (murs, jean grae etc)and can relate to what they are saying, while i cant relate to 50, banks buck and them in any shape or form.

I've been into Outkast since they dropped "Elevators". Yes indeed they're earlirer music is by far and away better than the last album that was released (Go get ATLiens & Aquemini). I don't agree with you that Andre 3000 is what you say. In many rappers views he's regarded in their top 20. I think he's as good as some say, but I also think that Big Boi is way better than him. Speakerboxx/Love Below proves my point (to myself if no-one else)

Hatin on - who I said at the start and also Missy, Pac, 213, Ja Rule
