I have a strat at the moment, but would love to go the other way and get a 'shredder', what would people suggest?

And what do you think i'd get for a US Standard Strat in absolute pristine condition, 6 months old, not one single scratch, never gigged with hard case. Black with maple neck?

Whatever i get for the strat will be my budget on the shredder, i'm thinking 900? 950?

    Perhaps something like this?

Prestige neck is it? I've never had a GOOD Ibanez but i'm very interested in them.

Yep, it's Prestige. You'd probably get a better price from www.guitarbargains.com though, so take a browse. I just got the RG1527, and I am extremely pleased with it. No problems shredding at all.

Yes, I just bought an RG1527 off them last week, it was shipped friday, and arrived here on monday.

How much do you reckon i could get for the strat? mmm, would i be stupid to be the Ibanez without playing it first?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

No idea what you'd get for the strat. I'd say hold onto it, there's a certain sound you only get from a strat, so it might be great to have it around. I played the RG1527 in Musician INC before I bought it online, but I doubt you'd have a problem if you didn't try it out before you buy it.

Yeah you would be, coz it might not suit you at all. Go play one in one of the shops first, see if the neck is something you can live with, and then order online. Never buy blind, especially guitars, imo.

Edit: i was refering to Lundi's previous question.

Edit 2: Don't sell the strat! Are you nuts?

i can't afford the Ibanez if i don't sell the strat:( I'd love to keep it but it's either one or the other.

Well, that is a bummer, but i'm the wrong person to be talking to coz i'm a Strat fanatic. :D

I suppose i could still keep the strat, but i'd have to leave the Ibanez for a couple of weeks. I guess, that's gonna be a LOOOONG couple of weeks:)

Guitar bargains aren't having a sale or anything are they? It'll still be there in a couple of weeks for the same price?

That's what i would do if i were you (unless you really don't like your strat, but then i'd kill you :) ).

Don't think they'll go out of stock!

Definetly wait a while, Lundi. Guitarbargains aren't having a sale, their prices are always that low, so you'll be fine.

This guy could'nt get 900 for a Sept 2004 Deluxe Strat here in the For Sale section so I doubt you'd get 900 for yours.

Keep the strat, just hot-rod it :D
