Short break in Ireland

    Hi everyone,

Myself and the girlfriend are looking to take a short break somewhere
in Ireland in the next week or three and I'd be interested to hear of
any suggestions of places worth a visit. We will be travelling from the
North East so anywhere other than that would be ideal.

Yes, I know this is a very general question and yes, we probably should
be going abroad as we'll most likely be stiffed by the hotels and b&bs
in this country but it's Ireland or bust this time.

Just curious to hear about interesting places here at home.

    Thanks,

    CJ

Donegal is great if you're looking for something rural lots of beautiful beaches and little pubs!

Galway I would reccomend as a buzzing city. The atmosphere is fantastic, craic is good, beer is flowing! and it has a very unindustrialised homely feel!

    Happy holidaying!

Depends on what you want. If it is scenery West Cork, Kerry or Connemara. If not, depends on what exactly you want. Cork & Galway are both quite good & vibrant small cities.

As said, it depends on what you're looking for. Sligo/Mayo has fabulous beaches and little pubs etc.

Personally Waterford is a favourite. Nice beaches, nice enough town/city. Lovely restaurants! Going there myself next week for a few days. I'd recommend Dunmore East
