problems with monitor

    i got my PC today and i am running in to problem with the moitor . it keeps saying that it has lost signal but is still powered on . is this to do with the fact that the graphics card and monitor have to be proberly configuared??? , it works for a while then the monitor flicks of to that signal screen, i tryed another monitor that i have in the house and the same thing happens,
    any help would be most appraciated

    Same on a second monitor, eh? What resolution/refresh rate are you working with? Are they within the limits allowed by the monitors (do you have to uncheck "Hide unsupported rates" to use them)?

    Other than that it sounds like the video card could be fooked.

    leave it switched on in the bios screen and see if it happens , lowest refresh rate here etc

    i think it might be comming freom the graphics card , not the monitor. it carshed all the time now . i updated the drivers for the gfx card and still same problem i think i will have to bring the computer back any more suggestions !!!
