post which one you like best and how you got into them.

I first heard about them in school from a guy whose older brother was a 4AD completist. He taped Come On Pilgrim for me and I loved it .

I got a new 4-in-1 Hi-Fi that Christmas and Come On Pilgrim was the first record I bought for and played on it.

Three months later Surfer Rosa came out and totally blew me away. Their finest.

Great live in those days, National Stadium gig especially. £6.50 a ticket to see them and the Pale Saints (another great 4AD act).

Never saw the point of the reformation.

Oh this is a hard one to choose, but I 'd probably have to say it's surfer rosa for the sole reason it was the first pixies album I ever listened to,I'll never forget hearin' Frank sing the first words of hey and then that gorgeous catchy unforgetable gutair line came in,I was hooked and still am

It's a toss-up with Doolittle and the somewhat unloved Trompe Le Monde. Doolittle is pretty self explanatory, but Trompe Le Monde really shows a whole different side to the Pixies.

I'd take any one of those albums over most other bands stuff though.

    How I got into them?

I got into through a band who covered Where Is My Mind. Liked the song so much I went out and bought the tribute album it appeared on. Liked that so much I went out and bought the albums. The rest, as they say, is history.

    Trompe Le Monde
I'm gonna plump for Bossanova (the only vote so far).

Their other albums are patchier by comparison, with the possible exception of the somewhat brief Come On Pilgrim.

Still, you can't go wrong with a Pixies' album really.

I like Surfer Rosa, but also have quite a soft spot for Trompe le Monde.

But as someone else said, you really can't go wrong with a Pixies album

Check out a recent release Frankblackfrancis to hear the original demo for the Pixies that Frank Black pitched to the record company. It's mad to hear the songs in their formative stage, but yet somehow, just about complete. The man was, and is, genius.

I'm gonna have to plump for Doolittle on this one. Probably because it contains No. 13 Baby, my favourite track from them.
That's not to say their other albums aren't masterpieces. Trompe Le Monde is the best album of the '90s IMO.
I got my hands on a live album from 1988 called "Return Of The Fatman" when I was in London. It's a bootleg job but it has an absolutely stonking rendition of River Euphrates on it which I can't get enough of.

For me, it's a toss-up between Doolittle and Bossanova. Doolittle was my first pixies album and I loved it but when I got bossanova i listened to it non-stop. I love 'Rock Music', 'All over the world' and 'the happening'.
Haven't got trompe le monde that long, haven't really got into it yet. though I love alec eiffel and u-mass.
    Surfer Rosa is great also.

I can never choose my favourite, it all comes down to what mood I'm in but I must say Doolittle has been topping my list for some time and Bossanova would be after that right now.
