I would like to add a cs mappin board to the community boards.

I remember we had a mapping board (for all games) when boards.ie was in it's infancy - might not have been boards.ie yet!

Unfortunatly, it didn't have as much support as necessary.

i think we should rename the "tweaking" community board to an "game editing" board.

then we could have tweaks, maps, and mods (prototype -> the best mod ever (when we make it ))

I think that the irish cs'ers and map makers deserve a chance to pimp their maps etc. Also non-mappers can check out the latest work being done by other mappers.

Maybe it didnt have the neccessary support back then Kharn,

but judging by DBC;s Mapping post on a combined map project, I am certain that all the support would be there.

I am posting from work and I'm sure not many people will see this post until after 6pm when they get home/ go on the net for off-peak times.

*Flashback* I remember back when I emailed Regi, and griped about a possible Mapping Board before the "Community Boards" were created... The idea was kicked harshly in the backside, leaving the few mappers we had back then with no real way to communicate rather than on mIRC...

But it is from mIRC that I and various other mappers have been asked many questions about mapping, mapping programs / utilities, MOD making and various other subjects along the same lines...

A mapping board would NOT be for mappers alone, but for those willing to learn mapping, those wishing to see custom maps in the pipeline from the growing ammount of budding mappers were are recieving in the community, and other reasons...

I whole heartedly support this board, it would not go to waste...

Hmmm ... dunno would i call myself an *active* mapper , i still have a good bit to learn , i need a bit of help getting used to lighting atm. But im really interested in getting good with it.

Oh and BTW , if your making a mapping board , please dont just make it a "CS mapping board" . I think thats silly imo because then mappers for another game will come along wanting their board too. "Mapping" or "Level Editing" would do fine

No offence, but PHB, your only "Electing" DBC for the map making MOD for his whacky idea's on the CS boards about making a map based on Dublin locations, were as Drake here is the one requesting boards for map making and is, by far, the best and most active mapper we have here...

Again, no offence, but Drake gets the credit, not DBC...

Im all for an "editing board" cause i started mapping today and i only map for tfc (cause its the best mod :P)

I am not working somewhere with a permanent connection to the net. Therefore I can only check the boards during off peak times.

And I think I'd check the board often enough to become moderator.
