You know those days when there is absolutely nothing to do and you go home in the evening feeling as if your eyes are going to fall out of your eye sockets due to staring at the screen all day. Had a few experiences like his upon starting a new job... project hadn't kicked off and no one else around. Truely these boards were a savior.

Yeah, I've just started a new job myself and atm i'm waiting for the project I'll be working on to get off the ground, so pretty much 8 - 4:30 I spend on boards. People don't post fast enough :(

I wonder if there is some sort of world record for spending the most amount of time on a bulletin board. And you'd have to post at least one worthwhile thing every 15 minutes. So basically the Cuckoo's Nest would be off limits.

I'm in a similar situation, doing some software testing at the mo, and right now theres nothing for me to test, thankfully boards is one of the few things not blocked by our firewall......

I only recently joined boards and 95% of my posts have been made during working hours. My job is oh so boring and i have very little interest in it.

Ok nice one. Good to hear that there are more than just myself who have been totally board somedays. Data migration projects just don't have that much excitement these days

Someone was saying that its mad how quickly the days go by. I concur, sometimes I come in in the mornings... check the emails... open up the system for the sake of appearances, fire up boards... and in what seems like a few minutes its lunchtime.. same thing after lunch... then its time to go home.

He HE Noticing A trend here we're all working while posting. Yup i be a newbie and most of my posts are from work or cafes. Waitng for my broadband to arrive so then my posts will sky-rocket. Never spent a full 12hours but have done a good 6without even realising it!!

thats is spookily similar to my day...as for data migration projcets, they are PURE evil, concentrated badness....

the reason I asked if the other people posting were on IT projects is that I'm alway amused at the amount of 'dead time' in a project where you get time to do things like this :D ......and then there is the screaming panic when it comes near to the end of the project........and you wonder how it all went so horribly wrong.....i mean its usually a case that you wouldn't have been able to use that 'dead time' anyway.....

Ya, I get bored in my job most days. Since I found this site the day seems to fly.

And when your typing most of the day, it actually looks like your busy, rather then just moving them mouse around when playing games... :D

I've spent many, many full work days doing little else but posting and have occasionally spent all day in work on boards.ie only to go home, have plans fall through and find there's nothing on telly so I end up spending the evening on here too. It's one of the few sites on the web that has ever kept me coming back (and the first thing I bookmark when I set up a new machine for myself)

I don't have that much time, because I still go to school, but next week are holidays, so I think I'll be here a lot (and I'll be in the real Ireland as well ^_^).
