Garden food?

Ran a bit low on crickets there and the lizard still seemed a bit hungry, how safe is it feeding garden insects?(Sailfin Lizard by the way) And is there any insects that would be best for feeding? so many fkn slugs in my garden, seems a waste.

I give my monitor the odd snail he enjoys it.

Just make sure you collect bugs in an area with no pestercides.
