Saying no...

Was discussing a person's behaviour tonight with a friend and describing a situation I'm in where the girl is claiming to be interested but whenever asked to meet up an excuse always seems to get in the way. My friend(female) said "maybe she doesn't like you but doesn't want you to know she doesn't"

Now my first thought was "this is highly illogical, why would someone do this?" but then thinking more about it, it does seem to happen.

Basically when you don't want to go out with someone why is it awkward telling them that? why do we say "I don't think it will work out" rather than "I'm not interested in you on a romantic level"

Anyone else ever do this? everything could be processed so much faster without this silly trait!

never happened to me. They actually tell me..."Connla...me and you? never. I'm sorry but hey your still free to come out saturday night for drinks?" I dont know wether its sad or insensitive that i shrug it off and actually do go get drinks with her next saturday

...of course one girl did agree she will have a threesome with me and her girlfriend if i actually make it to my last year of university...which starts this september...oh yeah (this is going with the assumption that women are equally honest in sleeping with me and turning me down)

But the closest i can get to your point is the paranoia of msn messenger, some people say they are great friends with you but live very far away but promise to talk to you either by email or messenger but despite being on broadband i have never seen this girl online and the only email i ever get from her is spam or chainmail...

So you know she doesnt like you, why do you have to constantly annoy her and bug her until she says it? Shes giving you the brush off, take the hint
