Fairly straight forward, I was just wondering if, when most people are having a can of beer/cider/rum&coke(?) do ye drink it from the can or pour it into a glass? :D

rum and coke in a can?...

i assume we can chooes bottle, can, glass? does the beverage originally come from the can? cos i'd prefer pints in a pub to cans. i can't decide. glasses or cans. not bottles.

from the can...it means i dont have to was the glass after. plus, when u drink dutch gold, its bad enough having to taste it, never mind having to look at it and be reminded of urine. ps-i actually love dutchie!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,391 ✭✭✭arbeitsscheuer

    Depends on the drink...
Guiness from a can - I saw one guy drinkin it that way, and I just thought it was 'orrible. Gotta at least pour it into a pint glass first.

Nice lager like Miller is better in pint glasses. But that cheap Tesco stuff, or Dutchie, or even Heineken or Carlsberg? That stuff's better in the can, man. :D

And then Stella, Rolling Rock and a few others are only drinkable in bottles IMO.

Jagermeister on the rocks, 'nuff said. You and your cans, what are ye like.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 238 ✭✭Dr.Feelgood

Jagermeister boy-you drinking from a plastic cup???
    You didnt answer the question!!

Do you pour the Jagermeister into an empty dutch gold can then squeeze in your ice, or drink it from a glass??

Would Jagermeister not prefer to be dealt as shots?
Although i suppose i never had one on the rocks in an actual glass, normally just shots.

    She's some drink!!

Eh OP, you are supposed to pour all canned beverages into a glass as rats tend to locate themselves around large warehouses and sometimes pee on the cannisters.

And wheels disease is not cool. But to be honest i drink from the can or glass, depends on availability of glasses and how bothered i am.

In the pub Guinness pints.. YUM!!!!! :)

I drink beer from a bottle, but if it's the canned type, I'll drink for a glass.

Stella - like it from the bottle, hate it from the can or a pint
Harp - like it as a pint, hate the bottles
Budweiser - hate it from the bottle and the can, love pints of it
bulmers - fairly nice in bottle can or pint form
strongbow - kinda the same, but not as nice as bulmers

If there's a glass handy then I'll use it for sure. You can drink quicker out of a pint glass compared to the tiny opening in a can.

usually would drink straight from the can/bottle but would probably be nicer from a glass but im just too lazy to get a glass and pour it in

usually from the can because im too lazy to pour!

i suppos eif i was at home i'd drink out of the can cos i think i'd look cool, nah i think if it comes in a can it should be drank from the can,
but in the pub definately a glass, and a pint glass at that, i hate it when people automaically presume cos ur a girl u need a half pint glass rather than a pint, i've been drinking with fellas since i started drinking 7 or 8 yrs ago and tbh i'd feel very wierd drinking from a half pint glass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,967 ✭✭✭✭Zulu

    bottle tbh

Touché. Glass preferably but only if its within reaching distance from the couch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 238 ✭✭Dr.Feelgood

Yo 'Chalk'(if thats your real name) ever hear of health and safety requirements???

What did you draft the Health and Safety in the Workplace Act or something??

Mef mef-of course i heard of health and safety. I have been drinking out of cans a good few years too but i aint an ass hole like other canned beer drinking health and safety officers in the hood.

Oh sorry, you are great!!! HUP!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 238 ✭✭Dr.Feelgood

    OP

Drink out of whatever best suits the drink i'm sure you can tell by the drink.

    You'll be dead on.

If I'm drinking Dutch Gold I normally put on a dirty trench coat I have in the attic, a pair of bright blue, Tesco style jeans and some classy tux shoes, finished off with a farmer hat. I lie in a dirty corner and squeeze the can a little bit until it's a bit crushed for that true homeless effect.. Oh, and from the can of course..

I like pints more than cans, but If it's in a can, I prefer a can to a bottle or pouring it. I also prefer the smaller cans, and more of them.

Rolling Rock is not beer. It yellow water. I drank 24 bottles in one go last summer and didn't even feel merry.

And wheels disease is not cool.

WTF is wheels disease? Do you lie in bed singing "the wheels on the bus go round and round" while having yet another can of Dutch?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,668 ✭✭✭nlgbbbblth

    Bottles are nicer than cans,
    never use a glass

Guinness is best when drunk straight from the tap.
    Settles in your stomach.

Ah yea, Im the same as most, methinks. Can unless there is a glass within arms reach/ someone is going to the kitchen and can get me one or if Im being all ladylike :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,678 ✭✭✭Selik

Bottles or glasses really. Beer tastes like pure evil muck if it's left in a can for more than about 20-25mins after opening.

    Depends.

Sometimes Southern Comfort + Coke in a glass, sometimes Bulmers from a bottle in a glass, with a bit of ice. The fomer usually, the latter to kill time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,278 ✭✭✭kenmc

I wouldn't even _buy_ a can, never mind drink beer from one! Bloody hell! <shudder>
Thankfully all the beers I drink come in bottles - in fact most ones I drink ONLY come in bottles. Cans are really really minging! Should be uninvented.

I love cans. Nice metallic taste. hmm.

    I'm actually serious.

    Depends on the drink really

    Bottle: Miller/Staropramen
    Glass: Guinness
    Can: Coke/Dutch Gold
