you need a large dish for starters. If you live there ask an expat Brit how they got it.

    check out these sites

    especially

    between 1m and 1.5m I make it.

Buy dish in germany, sky box on eBay in England

Yes you can as long as you have an Irish or UK address and telephone number.

My sister lives in the Alps above Sion (Anzere) and she gets Sky. She got it thru a local 'Sky' agent, like you do in Spain, but remember the Swiss are very fussy about dishes!! If you need any more ifo ,pm me

Reception certainly isn't a problem. I had about 80% signal quality with a 60cm dish in Bern, although I had to swap a 0.6db LNB for a 0.3db model. Also the cable run was pretty short.

I then moved recently and switched to a transparent 80cm dish (to avoid being too conspicuous). Last night I had 90% signal quality on both lnb's in the middle of a torrential downpour! I've got friends in Zurich who have perfect reception with 80cm dishes too, in spite of being further east.

As for using a local "SKY agent". The only ones I know of charge an arm and a leg and are only really necessary if you don't have access to an Irish or English address for the subscription. You can pick up a dish and stand locally for reasonably prices (eg about 40 € for a 78x70 Triax dish on www.satdiscount.ch). I ordered my SKY Plus box from Tony at satellite.ie
and he got the whole thing sorted and activated before shipping without any hassles. I'm not related and not on commision - just relating my experience. I'm sure you'll find other Irish dealers who'll do the same for you.

If you're worried about setting it all up, I'm sure you'll find a local "non-Sky" satellite shop who'll do the installation for you. I've installed Sky 6 times now though, and I'm no DIY expert.

    Hope that helps
    Jerry

Just noticed that you referred to "Sky digîtal" in you original post. If you're not lookong for a Sky Plus box, then I've got a perfectly good Pace receiver lying around gathering dust since I got Sky Plus. If you're interested you can have it (and a 60cm dish) for "half nothing". I'd rather see someone making use of it than have it taking up space.
