I don't really like them. Theres nothing wrong with the quality or anything, thats spot on.
Its just the subject matter of the images themselves. Sometimes you have to look beyond the obvious when you want to take a picture or else they just end up run of the mill snapshots.

Yeah, I agree with Metacortex. With macros it's all well and good getting in there and firing away. It's just that the end result can be a tad boring if there's nothing going on and nothing to catch the eye. Have a look here and compare yours with some of these. http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Caedes::Gallery&gallery=photography-%3Emacro

I'd agree aswell. It's not the quality, thats superb. It's more whats int he pictures, and the tones. I find the pictures a bit harsh, that can work, but seeing as you are going from macro shots, it would be good if it was easy on the eye. I think some of them look a little over-exposed. The second ones composition i dont like, keep up the work though.

Chains would work well in black and white, IMO.

(I think machinery looks well in B&W - e.g. this stuff)

The one of the bark looks crap. The others are OK.
