wot the fuk is the story here?
U2 are taking their former stylist to court to try & get back goods worth €5,000 , which she claims she was given by the band.
Im seriously baffled by this- surely 5 grand is a piss in the ocean/night on the booze for bono & Surely a band who pride themselves on being so "COOL" really shouldnt publicise the fact that they employ a stylist!!
I know its probably "the Principal" of it all but does anybody else find this strange to say the least???

A bit odd. Maybe we arn't being told the whole story. I'd imagine its the priniciple......or they are just a bunch of gheys.

Or maybe she nicked a load of hats/clothes/equipment/photos which they consider dear to them and they dont want some thieving bitch to have them.

Can I come to your house and nick family photos and heirlooms?

Im not much of a u2 fan, but I'd seriously doubt they are that tight, it's surely personal issues.

Those baldness covering beanie hats and shortness disguising cuban heeled boots aren't free you know... oh, actually they are.

Anyway, the earnest God-bothering midgets with the funny names are getting the hump because their ex-stylist is selling off souvenirs from the Joshua Tree period which they gave her. All a bit silly. http://www.u2world.com/news/article.php3?id_article=19133

"scum bag butler that Princess Di had"
that'll be that porky rugger bugger who's currently on every available reality tv programme?
i Wouldve thought 5 grand was a small price to pay to get a nut job like this outta your life & into obscurity (rather than on the front pages which is probably where she wants to be)
She's apparently written a book where she talks of bono's obsession with his weight & height ??
say it aint so paul ?
your'e an icon to all short blokes with fat arses..
Also judging by the ridiculous sh-it they used to wear during the period in which she was their stylist ??? shes either very good or very bad at what she does!!

You mean when they wrote an album rated one of the best of all time? The same time they cracked America (the most succesful irish act there to date)

Its easy to knock some ones past, you can take almost anyone from the eighties and knock there style, it was the eighties! They probably look back at the mulletts and cringe, but at the same time if I wore that stuff and heard that someone I used to know stole them, and is now selling them for there own profit, writing a book about me with false information I would be irate. Bottom line if it was for charity and not for self gain it would have been fine.

I'm not denying what they acheived & when they acheived it i Just find it strange that they are giving this attention seeker the attention that she craves just cos shes got a few mugs tshirts & cowboy hats.
The Myth of U2 is that they are 4 lads & one clever manager from little 'ol Dublin who conquered the world.
People still go on about how they are "cool Fukkers" & most people like to think this is just inherent .
perhaps without their sylists & sound designers they'd just be a middle aged pub rock band- but to actually draw attention to this fact surely just leaves a dent in whatever credibility they have as well as drawing attention to this woman?

I think the salient point is that hewson and co. employ stylists, wow rock'n' roll or wot??

If you had a few mil, and could employ someone to wash your dishes for you, and clean your house, would you? Same with the stylist, tbh.

I'd say she nicked a few things, and its the principle. Let someone slide, and the next one will take more.

Try reading the article. Its a few crappy mugs and t-shirts that were given to her, now Mr Make Poverty History has decided that it wasn't "that kind" of gift in that they were not hers to do with as she wishes, the pompous little buffoon.

yeah syco point taken but a stylist is more than someone who does menial work - its not a kick in the street cred if bono employs a housemaid /chauffer gardener - but a stylist is someone who is telling you what to wear etc - surely the king of cool does not need anyone to do this !!!does he??
BY the way, what if the cleaner you employed tried to sell some of your Pubic hair that they found in the toilet ?
(this actually happened with an ex graceland employee who claimed to have some of Elvis's pubes BTW )

    Two opinions:

    1. A stylist does more than decide what you wear. The shop for your clothes for gigs and public appearances, etc. You can be certain almost 100% of high profile entertainers and politicians have one. Can't see Bono, Blair, Cruise or Bush scooting around pennys every second day for a new outfit for their next public appearance.

    2. This reminds me of the thread about the secretary who split ketchup on the executives clothes, and he billed her. Just because one person is wealthier than another, people assume in cases like these that the poor person is not in debt to the richer because of their status. This isn't/shouldn't be the case;
"Oh look, there's Bill Gates, I'll nick €5000 off him, he's loaded and shouldn't go after me for it!!!"

    My 2 cents...

Actually what you described is more the job of a bands wardrobe dept.

I notice you didnt mention bertie there i presume his stylist doesnt buy the anoraks for him!!
by the way I think bushes mother still buys his clothes.
Anyhow i'm still baffled by this one it's like Bill clinton asking for his cigar back!
