    Lads

My mate lives in the UK, his dad has a Sky box here in Ireland and my mate was wondering if he got a 2nd sub for his dads, could he take the card over to the UK with him and use it there for the Irish channels?

    Cheers

    yes

but a mirror sub wouldnt work as the box would need to be connected to the phone line. so a full sub would be needed. loads are doing it already so there shouldnt be any problems

So he needs to get a fresh install done in Ireland, this box needs to be connected to the phone line, then he has to register the card to the box and take card and box to UK?

The best way to do it, as I have done, is to just get the card in Ireland. If you get the free dish and box in Ireland you will have to keep it connected to your Irish phone line for 12 months. When you have the card bring it to UK and get a second hand or new out of sub dish and box. Will all work fine, mine has for the last 2 years in London. Good luck.

Yeah, just get a "Second hand Contract" in Ireland, have it sent to his dad's home, then have it sent to UK, and then get it activated (block caller ID).
