Going to london on friday for a 3-day weekend and was wondering are there any things that i can't miss?

So far, I've booked the London Eye, going to see a show (The Producers :D ) and I'd like to see The Science Museum. Not really sure after that...

    Any suggestions much appreciated!

Go to the Victoria and Albert Museum, it is a must see, it is beside Kensington (I think)...

the Tate modern is a must... the big room with the sun is amazing....walk over the millenium bridge to get there......

Ronnie Scotts in Soho is a deadly place for jazz gigs, www.ronniescotts.co.uk. :)

Dont bother with the science museum, its a real big disappointment. I was bored off my tree. I had the most fun at the gift shop. Make sure u have a decent camera for the london eye.
You have to pay to go into westminster and st pauls cathedrals which is a bit of a shocker. Between 5 - 8 pounds last summer which is quiet steep for a church to be honest.
Def go to the wax museum, its alot of fun! The tower of London is a must. Its history is amazing!
Do one of the bus top tours, do it on your first day so you can go around and pick all the places you want to go to. They are a great way of seeing the city in a short period of time. The next day you could get the hop on hop off tour so you can go back and see all the things that you picked out and pick up on any other interesting facts. The london underground is very easy to get around, use it, its fast, cheap and easy.
Also go to Soho and just laze around in the small little park in Soho and people watch. Great place for a picnic, the people there are very interesting. Covent garden is also pretty cool and is only a small bit further up oxford st afaik from soho

Having just returned from working in London for 3 years I have to say the most amazing thing to do is spend a few hours in the national history museum in South Kensington. I managed to get there when they were showing the wildlife photgrapher of the year, I was stunned to silence. I'm not usually in to Arty things (so to speak) but that exhibition blew me away.

Along with that they have a life sized whale and some quality dinosaur skeletons. I spent 4-5 hours there, and could have spent days.

One tip though don't eat there, keep your admission ticket and stroll in to Kensington for some food, the canteen there is a rip off and it's actually a nice way to break the day up, 4/5 hours in a row can be exhausting. The little break can be perfect to give you the appetite for more exploring in the afternoon!

    Enjoy yourself!

TBH I found the Tower Of London quite boring. The London Eye is great, Houses of Parliment are well worth it.

Covent Garden and the market make for a nice ramble, and London Transport Musuem is there too if that floats your boat (the tube simulators are kind of fun).

Go to Portobello market and get off at Notting Hill tube, Spittle Field Market (which is in the area Jack the Ripper use to hang out) which you reach by going to Liverpool St station, Camden is an eye opener and good fun. A nice picnic or stroll around Primrose Hill is cool for celeb watching. To get to Primrose Hill just keep walkin up the main street in Camden Town, keep walking past the Camden Lock for about 10-15 mins and you'll end up in Primrose.

No way! I visit London six or seven times a year and always try to get to the Science Museum. It's absolutely fantastic and free too!

The National Gallery on Trafalgar Square is great too. And the Natural History Museum (beside the Science Museum). The V&A and the British Museum don't really cater to my interests, but they're excellent museums too.

Take an open top bus tour.

Nachos, what sort of stuff are you into doing over there if you don't want to hit the tawdry tourist meccas?

Make sure you take a journey on a Routemaster London bus at some stage, oh and the boat trips down the Thames are well worth it for seeing the sights from a different perspective.

If you're into people-watching and soaking up the surroundings, linger around a coffee place in Chelsea, Kensington and Sloane Square and see how the other half live! Likewise around St. Pauls or the City...if you're on a bus going through these places, you can also do this to a degree.
