So I cleverly found these extension cables on komplett

The thing is they say USB 2.00.
Are they all compatible with USB1.1
the reason I ask is some outher cables on site say they are compatible,

I can email komplett but imagined here might get a quicker response

    cheers.

PS> I really have apppreciated help on the boards :) reall great idea

Yes, it will work. All USB 2.0 equipment is backwards compatable with 1.0 and 1.1 equipment.

    Hi there...

Be advised that the maximum cable run that the USB specs recommend is 5m (or about 16'5" in old money ;) )... you probably need a *powered* USB hub in the middle (or at least somewhere along the first 5m of cable) to boost the signal (which is why using a powered hub is important) to ensure that you don't get data corruption or related problems.

(You can daisy chain up to five USB hubs at 5m intervals to get you 30m (or 98 feet) if you really need to... though at that rate, consider running an ethernet cable - whose maximum single 'run' without a repeater is closer to 50m or 150' - and putting a print server at the other end... or consider wireless?)

    Hope this helps,
    Gadget

    thanks for the replies

wireless seems to be ruled out as an option here (they see cables as cheap :) )
