Did I hear right - U2 was to play in Tramore??

I heard from my mother, and im convienced she is wrong, that Ben Gavin (Town Councellor) was on the Radio this morning and said that U2 where planning on doing some sort of gig in the Race Course and that it was being negoiated and going well untill things changed and failed. Thats what I heard, but nobody else seems to…

I heard months ago when Croker wasn't definitely going to be the venue, Tramore and other places were hinted as venues...
