I'm new and this thread is buried pretty deep, but I'm a gymnast!
    Or was :p
Now I'm just a crazy gymnastics fan.
I did gym from when I was 10 up to 15. I wasn't very good as I was already tall when I started, and I have a bone condition that better suits me for rhythmic gym, which wasn't an option.
But I've kept up with the sport ever since I was 10. Since 1992, I've subscribed to International Gymnast magazine and I'm a frequent poster on the IG messageboards and Gymworld. I'm a member of other gym forums, but that's mainly for gossip and videos.
There was a report around the time of the Commonwealth Games that Ireland is planning on putting more money toward gymnastics and has plans to build two gymnastics "supercenters." I won't hold my breath, but that would be pretty cool if it happened. Right now the state of gymnastics in Ireland is pretty poor, but Australia, Britain, Canada and the US programs are growing by leaps and bounds. Maybe that and the Games in 2012 will entice the Irish to strengthen their program. :)
