    Hi

I have an Abit NF7-s2 motherbaord with an onboard serial ata controller and my main drive is on that with windows XP pro installed. I also have an ata133 hard drive installed as primary master and its a 40gb one for backup. My problem is that if I was to take out this hard drive my computer wont boot and I think its because windows has installed the boot sector on it as opposed to the larger SATA one. Is there any way I can swap the boot sector over to the main drive because I want to take this 40gb drive out of my machine and put it in another one.

    thanks

take out the 40gig, put the sata on master, boot the xp cd, go into recovery console, type fixboot and type fixmbr, that should do the trick
