There are many ways to help out in animal welfare, and it doesn't always have to involve giving cash.

Here are a few ways in which you can help out.
The first thing to do is to deceide what group of animals you would like to help out, horses or farm animals, dogs, cats, small animals/exotics, birds etc.
Then find the nearest rescue group to you ..you can find that here>> http://www.irishanimals.ie/all.html
If you cannot find one in your county, no matter, just pick the county nearest to you.

    Ways you can help.

.Do a clean out, see if you can find old duvets, pillows, blankets for dog/cat bedding.
.Check your garage, you may have old dog beds/dishes/cages etc
.Visit charity shops who often have large clean old blankets for just 2 euro!
.Ask friends/work collegues and family to do the same
.Collect newspapers at work or at home
.Transport..a very important part in animal welfare, mabey you travel from one county to another on a regular basis and can sometimes fit in a cat carrier or dog crate and help move rescued animals from one rescue to another or from rescue to foster home etc.
You can sign up as a K999 transporter here>> http://k999.irishanimals.ie/
.Keep an eye out in free ads papers and newspapers for free kennels/cages/hutches etc to give away and pick them up for rescues.
    .Neuter/spay your own pets.
.Check out Irish rescue websites on their how you can help section or visit their fundraising shops here are just a few links>> http://www.limerickanimalwelfare.com/law/howyoucanhelp.htm

You would be surpised how easy it is to help out a rescue, collecting old duvets and other items wouldn't even cost you a cent.

Hope these links help anyone who has been pondering how to help out.
