Getting to Citywest

    Good Morning,

I start work in citywest for a couple of months.

I can get to the square no problem as I'm on the luas redline. I believe there are some private bus companies that run buses from the square to city west. Would it be possible to find out where abouts in the square these leave from?

I know Dublin bu$ has 2 bus services aswell but the timings are infrequent.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    spanner_head

There is a luas -> citywest feeder bus that is run by mortons bus company.

It runs from 7 to 9.15 in the mornings i think and 4.30 to 6.30 in the evenings... Not 100% sure they are the correct times, but there are every 15 mins within those general timeframes.

The bus stop is the stop where you would get the 50 or 65b etc at the square. The mortons bus stop is the one heading into town though, so its across the road from the square.... Just looks for the mortons sign and you will see it..

    €1 each way...

If you PM me your email address I can forward you the timetable when I get into work on monday....

How did you get on with this? May be starting a job out there also and am wondering what the commute is like? Would be leaving from fairview...

From Fairview you would be best off getting the 50 or 65b direct from Eden Quay. Going against the peak traffic the bus would be at least as quick as the Luas from there to the Square, probably a lot quicker. It should take the bus less than an hour for the whole journey.

You wouldn't be far wrong John - I get the 65B to Airton Road in the mornings and it is generally very reliable, with the 0720 getting there for 0755/0800 so 0820 at Citywest is a fair bet. The 0735 likewise is generally on Airton Road for 0810 so it would probably make Citywest for 0830-0835.

Third_Echelon kindly provided me with a private bus timetable. Bascially buses start at 7.15am from the square still 9.30am and then start up again at 4.30 till 6pm. The private bus takes about 10-15mins to get to citywest. I expierenced Dublinbus on my first day and it took about 30mins and I was late for work!

As trainuser and john are saying your best bet is the 65B or 50 as your coming from town.

I've recently started in citywest, and tried to find that timetable that you were talking about in an earlier thread. I am finding it a nightmare to get in and out of Citywest, I was wondering if you could send on the timetable to me please!
