I just stuck my head out the window there.. I am in rathfarnham, and I am in the edmonstown area, I'm the last esate out before the dublin mountains, and i can hear a slight rumble, sounds almost like a plane in the distance, like it's that loud, (not really loud at all but you can still hear it far off. It'd be cool just hangin around town.. like it's be ral loud.

God if you could hear it in Rathfarnham my ears must be truely deafened - I was standing at the front beside a big big bank of speakers!

I live next to croker so can hear it. Not so bad, but on sunday night will not be welcomed as I am working on monday early......

We also didn't get free tickets even though our streets are jammed/closed off all the time for the gig.

It wasn't that loud inside - I was up near the front!!

I was at Slayer a couple weeks back - now THAT was loud :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,618 ✭✭✭Civilian_Target

I could hear it from Georges Dock.
Slayer wasn't *that* loud - you always need much less amplification for indoor gigs anyway....

I was at the gig friday night and I actually thought the volume was quite low for a rock concert.

One things for sure,Croke Park aint suited for concerts. The sound was appalling

I could barely hear it and I'm in the North Strand. Strangely, some friends in East Wall which is further away could hear it perfectly.
    Some physics thing presumably.

Frisay night was very disappointing - the sound on the pitch was atrocious, you couldn't see the stage (fair enough I'm not that tall but one of the lads is 6' 4" & he couldnt either!) and there was no real buzz or interaction with the crowd

But last night was magic! We were in the Hogan Stand & the place rocked. Sound was much better & the atmosphere was electric

I work in Lilac Wines in fairview (shameless self-promotion; nothing beats it), and nothing. Kept walking in and out between drawing on a picture of Bono (hate U2 with a passion), and couldn't hear anything. Someone was saying something to do with the wind, but I didn't think that'd affect sound waves. Ah well.
