Well, inspired by too many hours watching Wimbledon and an impromptu game today, I want to get back into playing tennis more regularly. Anyone know of a good racket I could get that wouldnt break the bank. Say between €50-70 and where would such a racket be available.

    Thanks

Hmm. Not sure if they are still available but a friend of mine picked up two rackets from Lidl. I played with one for a league match as the strings in mine bust the day before, and I was nicely surprised. I think he paid round €30?

cool, might check that out. I also came across what looks like a fairly decent wilson in argos for €50. In past experiences, brand names are very reliable when it comes to all things tennis.

Whats the make of the one in Argos? Generally the big racket brands are Wilson, Head, Prince, Dunlop, and so on...

I too am trying to get back into tennis - I haven't played that much in the last twelve years. I bought a Prince racquet Volley TI for €58 in my local sports shop (in Clonmel), great racquet, oversize head and a good sized sweet spot.

I would recommend Prince or Wilson. A lot of the larger chains have sales at the moment and its possible to pick up a decent racquet to get you going for around fifty quid. Saying that, I saw a lovely Head racquet in Lifestyle the other day on sale for €35!!!
