Hi, I'm just wondering if anybody knows how to do this.
I recently registered a domain, easily and cheaply done.

The problem I have is that whenever I whois my domain
all of my information, Name, address and phone number
are displayed. Ofcourse I dont want all my info to be
displayed. I wouldnt mind name phone no and business
but I dont want my home address to be displayed.

I send a mail to them about this and their reply was
quite crap to say the least.

"sorry be we don't support any form of whois information 'cloaking'."

    I'm sure there's a way around this.
    Thanks in advance

Some companies offer a "cloaking" service as an extra service.
If the company you got the domain from do not offer this then you may need to look at moving the domain to a company that does offer it

What company did you register the domain with? I have domains registered with Dotster and for €3 a year you can hide your personal details. You can transfer domains for fairly cheap these days so there is something you can do about it. It might be a bit of hassle though.

Do it early before the domain takes off and it will be less hassle.

    Thanks for the advice.

    I registered it with hosting365.ie
Didnt think there'd be much of a problem with them.

    I just checked dotster there

    "To transfer a domain:
» It must be registered for at least 60 days with its current registrar before a transfer can take place"

Just wait until the 60 days are up and move it to another registrar

There's a group going round finding non-compliant whois's and putting them on a balcklist, apparently :)

Email us about it, we'll cloak your whois data legally for €2 per annum.
