The Curragh Friday

First of all can anybody point me in the direction of an up to date going report for the Curragh, it was Good-to-Firm yesterday, but that's the last update I can find. It's a right pain in the backside looking for information on Irish racecourse, I was also trying to do some research into stalls position/draw advantage etc. but gave up when I realised I was wasting my time.

    Anyway on to the racing:

6:30 Down Mexico Way - should be able to win this although Virginia Wolf could be anything. I prefer to stick with form in the book and 2l second to Fracas is by far the best bit of form on show.

7:00 Bricks and Porter/Neeze: My selection depends on the weather, if it's good to firm I'll be backing neeze and if it's good or softer I'll go for bricks and porter.

7:30 Silly Dancer (ew): Looks a promising type and should be a decent price for an EW bet, drawn against the rail which should help.

    I'll post more later.

Anybody else got any big fancies?

Just after seeing your thread now MasterK and was delighted to see you give a word to Silly Dancer. She's part owned by a friend of mine and he was a very happy man last Saturday!! Word from the track is that she's worth an e/w punt but this is the stiffest opposition she's come up against todate. As you said, she has a good draw and is good value at 7's (Paddy Power) although I'm told you can get as high as 9/1 elsewhere. Have a look at Out After Dark in Newcastle 7.15 also part owned by another friend of mine. Tonight is gonna be a savage night in the pub!!!!

My main reasoning behind Silly Dancer was a form line that both Silly Dancer and Sandie share through a horse called Shinko Dancer who came 2nd last night.

Silly Dancer finished 6 lengths in front of Shinko Dancer at Navan while Sandie only finished 5 lengths in front at the Curragh, both off level weights. In theory, that form line should put Silly Dancer slightly ahead of Sandie yet Sandie is 2/1 and Silly Dancer 7/1. Add to that it was Silly Dancer's first race and you would imagine it should improve from that.

I'm very keen on Portsmouth in the maiden at 9:00. I took around 7/4 last night on Betfair but he's shorter now. Will probably open up on course between Evs and 5/4.

6:00 Virginia Woolf. A lighter weight to Down Mexico Way so looks like a winner to me. :)

i d'ont live too far from the track and providing they have'nt watered i'd say its very fast underneath a loose-ish top.
