    I am very sorry if this is in the wrong section or if im now even aloud doing this but i was hoping i get get your guys advice. I have a fairly decent system (i hope) :rolleyes: . I was thinking if it would b worth my while selling it and with some of my saved cash getting sum new stuff. Wat i am wondering is wat kind of price do u think i could get 4 this stuff?

    Mobo -> Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000-G Rev 4
    Cpu -> P4 3.0ghz 1mb L2 Cache
    Ram -> 1gb Kingston Jet Ram
    Hdd -> 250gb
    -> Could go with a case to but its not the best, would it add a little to the price a little?

    Im not decided yet whether i want to do this, it all really depends on wat u reckon i could get 4 this system.

    PS: Wat would the price increase b if i threw in a geforce 5700 256mb gfx card.

    Thanks 4 any advice, let me no wat u think .

    Oh ye i have most of the boxes, cables, etc for most things.

    I recently got €190 for a P4 mobo n a 3.2 cpu... Add the ram n HD n u should get €400 +/- depending on speed of ram, IDE/sata HD n if ur cpu is a prescott r northwood..

    Ur card is worth about €100ish

    Okay:

    Im not really sure how i tell how fast my ram is, it has 333 on it which i think stands 4 sumting along those lines . :confused:

    The harddrive is ide, not sata. The board has sata connectors though so could have them. How do i check if my cpu is prescott of northwood.
    400 seems low, i saw sum guy get 170 euro for his crappy p3 :eek: .

    There's a mug born every minute. You should remember that most of the posters on boards.ie are very tech savvy and wont pay over the odds for PC bits.

    I would also note that getting a decent graphics card (6600GT or similar) in your current rig will make it good for at least another year.

    He is right, im running a V simillar setup n looking to get a 6800gt... Im sure it'll be good for the next year/year 1/2. But if u want to sell its ur choice.

    U think its good enough?? :p . All i really want is an amd but i suppose i am being a bit picky arent i. I get this stuff for free, via my dad, so gotta just accept it.
    But yes u probably are right, it would b silly, and i would have to add a lot of my own money to that 400 to get wat i want.
    Suppose i will just hang out until my dad decides to start using a different mobo or cpu. Thanks 4 the replys guys, these boards have been good to me :).

    Endurance man, just for future reference, theres a nifty little program called CPU-Z, it will give you run down on your processor, mobo,ram etc. you can download it from http://www.cpuid.org/cpuz.php
