Just thought this might interest some of those out there who are still playing NWN (you know who you are...) :D

Lifted directly from the front page of the website:
It's a sci-fi / fantasy genre blend that takes you through a world where magic is illegal and nothing is quite as simple and straightforward as you may wish for. Get ready for action, romance, drama, comedy, and plenty of robots to break your keen +2 longsword vs. chaos against.

    and the link:
    Hex Coda

I haven't downloaded it yet, but it looks cool.

I just finished this module yesterday and wanted to give my thoughts on it.

    Hex Coda 01

    Created by: Stefan Gagne

    Quick pros:
Great visuals, solid design, good custom music, light-hearted, original

    Quick cons:
Feels a bit short, Doesn't give out much of a Sci-Fi feel (as advertised)

    Review:

Hex Coda is set in a world where use of magic is controlled by the Cathedral, an organization that holds intense control over everything in the world.

You are a member of the Hex Coders, and underground movement attempting to spread the use of free magic, preparing for the eventuality of the Cathedral becoming more aggressive.

Being the first part of the module, it serves as an introduction to the main characters in the group and also the world.

The module offers a selection of interesting npc's and they should be used to support your characters as they are well developed. Another interesting aspect of this module is the relationship counter. As your relationship with the npc's grow, the effectiveness of their special abilities go up.

You are also given a playbook, where you can set the npcs routine, ie special abilities and spells.

Experience is only given for doing quests - so a non-melee can enjoy. Skill checks are done in most quests, and if you're stuck, you can always ask your NPC to help you out.

I played this module with a fighter (6)/Rogue(4). Module levels you up to level 10 at the beginning and gives and introductory background to the world. You will also receive a martial style feat if you create a character in this module. I'm pretty sure its only cosmetic but it looks cool! It gives you kensai style, assasin style and fencing style.

I recommend a mage if you're playing this module.

Quests are interesting. As with most Stefan Gagne's modules, there is a bit of lighthearted comments in the quests and characters.

Equipment: I believe you will be item stripped if you use a pre-made character, plus you won't get the martial style feat, so might as well start a new character?

    No rest restrictions.

Respawn: Is done in an interesting method. In accordance with the background setting in technological world, you are given a stim-pack device. If you die once, you will respawn immediately at 100% health with no penalties. Twice, health at 60%. Third time, 40%. If you die more than three times, the charges will not work on you, and you die. This resets everytime you rest.

The custom items are described in detail, and seems to blend in perfectly with the world.

It just feels that the world is not fleshed out much, but I'm hoping thats just because its an introductory module. I wanted to see the world as described on his website ... The Asylum

    Other points of note:
The current release of this module has no major bugs.

The total download file size would be:
    module itself (18.8 mb)
    patch (2.2 mb)
music pack (23.7 mb) - optional

This module is a very polished module, and is up there with the best modules currently on NWNVault.

Summary: Recommended module if you're looking for something different.

Comments on my review are also welcome. :D

Didn't really get into this mod. Loved the penultima series by the same author though.
