Bluetooth-"ing" Content From Sagem To Nokia...

Ok, for anyone reading the other threads, I decided on the 6680 in the end. And I like it. Had some trials and tribulations buying it (the least of which was that I got home and there was no battery and no MMC in the box!), but that's another story for another day.

What I'd like to know is this: Is there a quick and easy way to copy the content (i.e. images, tones but most importantly, contacts) from a Sagem My-V55 to the Nokia 6680?

I've copied the sim contacts, but there's a whole bunch of phone contacts who I don't have. The Sagem doesn't seem to have a "copy phone contacts to sim" option (at least that I could see) and it doesn't have bluetooth. It does have IR, but I haven't found a way to copy a whole bunch of contacts to a PC. Instead, it does one at a time. Slowly.

What I was thinking of was purchasing a bluetooth dongle for the Sagem (about €40 or so) and then 'toothing (can I say that? I don't really want to... ;)) the contacts across. Would this work? Would the phones spaz out and go "Sagem? What? Huh? Nokia? What the hells going on?!? Ohhhh, I'm so stupid..."?

Or is there something fantastical and middleware-y about bluetooth that would take care of the translation from one fone to another?

    Thanks guys!

Well firstly, myv-55 doesn't have bluetooth, only infrared.. turns out the 6630 hasn't got infrared, so I don't know if the 6680 does..

    Hi Wez,

Not meaning to be an a$$, but:
The Sagem doesn't seem to have a "copy phone contacts to sim" option (at least that I could see) and it doesn't have bluetooth... What I was thinking of was purchasing a bluetooth dongle for the Sagem

    :)

But what I'd like to now is if there's a bluetooth / OS standard for copying contacts. If there is, I'll buy the dongle for the Sagem and problem solved. However, if it's a case of the Sagem and the Nokia not being compatible (for one reason or another), then there's no point!

I didn't know you could get a bluetooth dongle for the Sagem My V55. Where did you see this product?

    The 6880 only has bluetooth.

    http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,70878,00.html#co

And the Sagem only has IRDA

So only option is getting two cables or a sagem cable to transfer to Pc and then Blue tooth or cable to 6880.

Only other option (Slow) you are right the Sagem only has an option to transfer all contacts on a sim to the phone but not the same feature in reverse i.e. phone to sim. Which it will only do ONE at a time.

Depending on the number of contacts up have could take hours.

from the description of the Sagem Bluetooth phone adapter/dongle I've seen so far it appears to support audio only i.e. to support Bluetooth headsets... it would have needed to support other bluetooth profiles such as obex / file transfer in order to exhange / transfer data...
