    I assume you mean how do you not strike the middle string with the pick?

    Well you will have to hit the middle string, unless you're finger picking. Whichever finger you're using to fret the A#, be sure to dampen the A string with the same finger so all you'll here are the two notes that you're playing played. Simple really, just practise.

    Edit: I'm assuming the A# is being played on the 6th string by the way. :)
